BIO:        Tony Savarese

Tony Savarese received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Drexel University. He began his vibration career with the US Navy. As a member of a two man crew, he was responsible for collecting and analyzing data of all rotating equipment on the USS Saratoga Aircraft Carrier during its 1982 Sea Trial when it was overhauled in Philadelphia. After that he was hired by General Dynamics for their noise reduction program where he participated in the "Independent Research and Development Program". While at G.D., Tony received a contract from the government to successfully develop an on-line balancing system that corrects unbalance without shutting down the equipment. From there he was recruited by Schenck Trebel (a major balancing and vibration equipment manufacturer). While at Schenck he was responsible for the application of new balancing equipment and tooling for the aerospace industry and supervised the service department for vibration analysis. He also ran the training department in which he trained new employees and created technical seminars for training customers at all levels. Today Mr. Savarese owns and operates Measurement Systems in which he supports industrial businesses in their effort to reduce noise and vibration at their facilities. This includes custom software, custom instrumentation, field balancing, data acquisition, vibration monitoring, and machine diagnostics of rotating equipment. Tony was the engineer that developed the API Journal Runout Measurement system that is used to measure the electrical runout of shafts and bearings.
